She is resilient, a mother of two, and a force of determination. Her journey has transformed, shaped by hard work, perseverance, and an unshakable passion for helping others. “Helping others doesn’t always mean grand gestures,” she says. “Sometimes, it’s just a kind word, a small act of kindness—love in its simplest form.”
She laughs at herself, a knowing chuckle. “I think I touch all five love languages. I love hard and with all I have.” Born into a loving home, she grew up with parents who nurtured her and her brother with warmth and guidance. “They did a great job,” Tamika says with a smile. “My brother is not just a sibling; he’s my mentor, my role model, my rock. He’s brilliant, hardworking, and an incredible father to his daughters. I admire him immensely.”
But as the saying goes, it takes a village. For her, that village had a name: Pat Wright. “Auntie Pat taught me how to do hair. Lord knows I was the slowest to learn! But she never gave up on me.” Auntie Pat’s guidance was more than just hairstyling lessons; it was a masterclass in self-love and personal growth. “She taught me that loving myself wasn’t selfish—it was necessary. I stumbled plenty, but her unwavering support helped shape me into the woman I am today. I’m still a work in progress.”
Tamika began her career as a hairstylist, where she mastered not just the craft but the deeper art of connecting with people. Over time, she transitioned into real estate, bringing with her the same attention to detail, empathy, and dedication that made her successful behind the chair. “Real estate is more than transactions—it’s about finding people their forever home, their sanctuary. That feeling of fulfillment? That’s why I do it.”
But her journey was far from smooth. “I get emotional every time I think about what I’ve been through. A failed marriage, and countless obstacles—but through it all, God has been good. I’ve learned to draw strength from adversity. And my daughters? They are my heart. No matter what, they’ve always been my reason to keep going.”

Today, she thrives as a realtor with Coldwell Banker Jamaica. She still does hair from time to time, and there are plans—big ones—to open a small space again this year. “Because why not? When you love something, you make space for it.”
Outside of work and motherhood, she has found solace in fitness. What began as a quest for physical health evolved into a deeply transformative journey. “Fitness is not just about the body. It’s a sanctuary, a reminder of my inner strength. It has taught me self-love, resilience, and gratitude. It’s how I silence my inner critic and amplify my inner voice.”
On Rebuilding—As Tamika reflects on her path, she acknowledges that rebuilding is a continuous process. “Professionally, it’s about learning from mistakes and moving forward. Personally, it’s about healing, seeking support, and communicating better. Funny enough, I communicate so easily in business, but in personal relationships? That’s a work in progress.”
Her greatest impact? “The relationships I’ve built. My clients are more than transactions. They’re people, families, and dreams coming true. That’s what keeps me going.”
And balance? It’s a constant juggle. As a mother of two remarkable daughters—one an aspiring pilot and the other excelling in school—she understands the delicate balance of career, family, and personal wellness.
She emphasizes the importance of prioritizing what truly matters, managing time effectively, and setting boundaries. Self-care, she insists, is non-negotiable—even if it means finding solace in a quiet bathroom moment just to recharge. Her advice to other women navigating careers, family, and personal wellness? “Decide what’s non-negotiable. Show up for your children. Surround yourself with genuine people. And never, ever forget to take care of yourself.”
A Community Of Support
Thriving in a traditionally male-dominated industry requires more than just skill and determination; it requires a network of strong, supportive women. For her, the secret to success—whether in real estate, fitness, or life—is community. “Women supporting women is not just a cliché; it’s a necessity. She believes in the power of mentorship and safe spaces—where women can share their experiences, uplift one another, and grow together without fear of judgment. Although she doesn’t have a singular story of collaboration, she is constantly inspired by the driven, ambitious women in her life. Their energy fuels her, reminding her that success isn’t about competing—it’s about rising together.
Her journey hasn’t been easy. Depression was a battle she fought—and won. “I believe in God’s goodness, I believe in prayer, and I believe in growth. I’m still overcoming personal challenges, but I know I am stronger than my past.”
A Vision for Women’s Future
As she looks ahead, she envisions a world where women continue to shape industries and communities. Through mentorship, networking, and support systems, she hopes to see more women lifting each other, breaking barriers, and redefining success on their own terms.
Her story is a testament to the power of perseverance, the beauty of rebuilding, and the unshakable strength of a woman determined to leave a lasting impact—one home, one relationship, and one bold step at a time.
And with that, she moves forward—stronger, wiser, and ready for whatever comes next.
